Homemade Ice Cream in a Bag

After watching an episode of Curious George with Eirene when they did ice cream with quite a fancy machine, I decide to Google my way to homemade ice cream in a simple way. I found this clever idea in the Family Fun website and I adapt it a little bit since I didn’t have all the ingredients.

  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 cup of whole milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup of Kosher salt
  • Ice cubes (enough to fill each gallon-size bag about half full)
  • 1 pint-size ziplock bag
  • 1 gallon-size ziplock bag
Instructions: In the small ziploc bag, combine the sugar, milk and vanilla extract and seal it. In the big ziploc bag, place the salt and the ice, then put the small bag inside. Finally shake the bags for about 10 minutes and enjoy!
Is a great and simple activity to do with the kids.
