A very simple and easy way to set your plan is by using the SAM method. There are many other ways but I like this method because it has only 3 steps and it doesn’t take too much time to do it. If you want to read more about goal setting and other methods, I’ll highly recommend to read moneysavingmom.com where Crystal Payne writes wonderfully about the topic.
1. Set your Goals:
I want first to encourage you to start writing about the goals you want to reach. Taking the time and effort to write your goals will give you a better vision of where you want to be headed. It will give you focus on what is what you want and it will help you organize your time and resources more efficiently. Be sincere with yourself, set goals that are realistic and that you can achieve.
2. Accountable Partner:
An accountability partner is a trust worthy person that cares about you and that will help you reach your goals. Make sure that is someone that will encourage you to follow your dream and not discourage you. He or she should be someone who will challenge, engage and evoke a sense of accomplishment in you.
3. Make a Plan:
Without a map you will probably get lost. Now that you know what is what you want, make a plan about how you are planning to reach your goals. Be as specific and precise as possible. Make sure to set a time frame for the goal. Putting an end point on your goals gives you a clear target to work towards.
